Not surprisingly, it happened as Mark Seymour, the lead singer of iconic Aussie rockers Hunters & Collectors started belting out the words to Holy Grail.

My biggest mistake here was knowing every word, and attempting to keep with the pace that Seymour had set.

Combined with the fact that ‘‘drowned rat’’ was a good description for my appearance, my voice never really stood a chance.

But I wasn’t the only one in that situation.

It was one of the many magical moments that Hunters & Collectors created during a set that lasted more than two hours that highlighted the fourth A Day On The Green concert at Josef Chromy Wines at Relbia.

Magic that was felt throughout as they shared hits such as Throw Your Arms Around Me [which created a huge sing-along with the crowd], Talking To A Stranger, When The River Runs Dry, This Morning, Say Goodbye and Do You See What I See?

It was a party atmosphere, with those of the 5500 crowd with seats well and truly out of them and those without seats, also on their feet, attempting their best dance moves.

The one unfortunate aspect of the day was Mother Nature.

For the second year in a row, she wasn’t a fan of Tasmania’s version of the concert.

For the first three hours of the event, she teased. A bit of sun, then a bit of rain, and then so on, but pretty much as soon as the Hunters hit the stage, the rain became consistent.

Maybe the weather is a Hunters & Collectors fan, as it just didn’t want to miss a moment.

The rockers had solid support from British India — who despite a youthful appearance, looked like they belonged in the more mature setting — and Something For Kate.

Something For Kate played old and new hits, but it was its cover of the Calvin Harris/Florence Welch hit Sweet Nothing that really had the crowd pumped.

Despite the rain, this was again another wonderful concert experience.
