A garbage bag or towel, goggles or sunglasses and a white tee-shirt were yesterday listed as must-have items by organisers.
The Camp Quality fund-raiser will also support the Active Launceston and Launceston parkrun initiatives as part of its colourful, messy agenda.
Active Launceston's Sharon King said they were hoping to see about 600 runners or walkers get splattered for a good cause.
Ms King said although the paint _ a mix of coloured cornflour _ may not taste very good it was completely safe and non-toxic.
``We've really opened it up for everyone, couples, kids, families _ come and get coloured,'' Ms King said.
``People should bring coloured sunglasses, bandannas, wristbands, wigs, anything they can find to be as colourful as possible.''
A fund-raising sausage sizzle, run by Reach Out volunteer Nicole Dobber, will also be held during the day in support of village development in Cambodia.
Ms King encouraged online registrations before the event, which can be made at www.eventssouth.com.au
