Latrobe's Todd Lamprey reeled in a 78.6-kilogram yellowfin tuna, a pending Tasmanian record, and Sorell's Nick Bailey caught a 61kg yellowfin.
The heaviest shark for the competition weighed 224.2kg and was caught by Sam Bon of Sidmouth. Small fry fisher Ebony Westwood has a decision pending on an Australian and Tasmanian mako shark record - catching a 78.3kg mako on 10kg line.
St Helens Game Fishing Club secretary Anne Stevenson said 143 people took part in the tournament.
"It was an enjoyable weekend," she said.
"There were 24 fish tagged and released and of them four were albacore and the rest were makos."
The Northern Game Fishing Club will hold a competition in St Helens at Easter.
