AN ARIAH Park man has been killed by the blade of his angle grinder after it shattered at his home on Tuesday.
Emergency services were called to the accident, on a property in the town about 2.30pm
Police say the 75-year-old was cutting corrugated tin with an angle grinder during repairs to a rear shed at the property.
It is believed modifications had been made to the angle grinder and a larger blade than recommended had been fitted to it.
While he was working, police say the blade shattered causing fatal injuries
Wagga detectives and forensic services examined the scene.
Police will prepare a report for the coroner.
