The man, driving alone in a red Toyota Hilux four-wheel-drive flat tray, lost control of his vehicle while travelling north through a series of curves on the Murchison Highway.
At 6pm his vehicle travelled to the road's left side on a bend four kilometres south from Lances Road, hit an embankment and rolled.
Police say it appeared the driver was not wearing a seatbelt, and was thrown out of his vehicle.
He sustained severe head injuries and died.
Emergency services closed the highway for 3 1/2hours while investigating the accident and clearing the scene.
Police would like to speak to anyone who may have seen the Toyota Hilux travelling on the Murchison Highway between Waratah and Yolla to contact them on 131444.
