The bonus for the Brighton Cup winner is that it gives the horse ballot-free entry into the Betfair Hobart Cup.
The 2012 Launceston Cup winner, Prevailing, heads the weights with 60.5 kilograms, while the remaining eight acceptors are on the minimum of 54kg.
But as it is a claiming race trainers David and Scott Brunton have opted to put stables apprentice Tyson Buck aboard Prevailing, which will reduce the gelding's impost to 57.5kg.
Prevailing has been working up to another win and he will appreciate stepping up to the 2100 metres.
This will be Prevailing's fourth run this time in and connections will be hoping he can return to the winner's circle as he hasn't won since emerging victorious at Moonee Valley the start after winning the Launceston Cup in February 2012.
The horse had an issue the trainers had to work through but from what the gelded son of Secret Savings has shown so far this preparation he might be on the way to recapturing his Launceston Cup-winning form.
His opposition on Sunday is not the strongest he has raced against this time in.
Last season's Tasmanian Derby runner-up Keep The Cash won over 1600m four starts back and he will appreciate stepping up to the 2100m for the second time this campaign.
Spotluck, from the Charlie Goggin and Luella Meaburn stable, has been a model of consistency this time in with wins at her past two over the 2100-metre trip.
