The new season will feature five races with the first to be held at Bridport on December 29.
Latrobe, Seven Mile Beach, Coles Bay and Devonport will also play host to the state series.
Competitors will score placing points in the Tasmanian Triathlon Series Points Score - a competition that is available across open, junior, senior and veteran categories.
The winners of the open category will be named the male and female Tasmanian Triathletes of the Year at the organisation's annual dinner in April .
Triathlon Tasmania president Casey Mainsbridge said yesterday that he was looking forward to increased interest and participation in triathlon throughout the state.
``Tasmania is following national trends with significant increases in association membership and participation,'' Mainsbridge said.
``We are seeing athletes from various other sports now crossing over to participate in triathlon and this is creating further competition at all levels of the sport.
``The board of Triathlon Tasmania is working hard to develop new and exciting opportunities for junior triathletes across the state and we are anticipating that this will also increase participation.''
