A BOY has sustained a head injury and a youth has been charged with criminal code assault after an incident at Campbell Town District High School.

The altercation between the students, within the school grounds, happened about 1.30pm on Wednesday.
However, The Examiner understands that the incident was not reported to police until about 4pm.
Paramedics transported the injured boy, 14, who sustained non-life-threatening injuries, to the Royal Hobart Hospital on Wednesday afternoon.
He was in a stable condition.
Deloraine acting Inspector Luke Moore confirmed that a youth, 16, had been charged with one count of criminal code assault.
The youth has been bailed to face the Youth Justice Division of the Launceston Magistrates Court in January.
Campbell Town District High School principal Stephen Plowright said yesterday that correct procedures were followed after an incident between two students at the school.
He said police were called following the incident, which resulted in a student being taken to hospital.
``Support is currently being offered to the family, students and staff,'' Mr Plowright said.
The school's annual celebration assembly, scheduled for last night, has been postponed to Tuesday at 11.30am.
Tasmanian Association of State School Organisations president Jenny Eddington said school incidents involving police and serious injury were ``very rare'' in the state.
