Two homes destroyed in Ravenswood fires

A HOUSE and a unit in Ravenswood were destroyed in two separate fires overnight.

Police and fire crews were first called a fire at Hugo Place at 4:04am, to find that the house was already well alight.

A second fire was then noticed within a unit complex on Pioneer Parade.

Both the house and the unit were occupied Housing Tasmania properties but the residents were not home at the time of the fires. 

Damage to the Hugo Place house is about $250,000 while damage to the property at Pioneer Parade is about $150,000.

Both fires are being treated as suspicious and will be investigated by police and fire investigators.
