The Magpies led by 12 points after an even first half with inaccurate kicking proving costly for the Tigers but Glenorchy kicked away in the second half to win 20.6 (126) to 12.11 (83).
Tall forwards David Hunt and Jonathon Bowring were focal targets in attack for Glenorchy with Hunt finishing with six goals and Bowring five to be among the Magpies best players.
Mark Corbett, Simon Spencer, Jake Cox and Nathan Matthews were good players.
Michael Cassidy kicked three goals to be the Tigers most effective forward with Aaron Hall and Will Coombe Hobart's best.
