Tasmanian State School Parents and Friends vice-president Jenny Eddington said the three-question survey that closed last week found parents split on the subject.
``It was really down the line,'' Ms Eddington said.
``But the interesting thing about it was the comments section and that was really positive and we got lots of considered comments really saying that no matter which way they wanted, they wanted more information and details.''
She said it felt that survey respondents were in favour of extending high schools yet they wanted to find out exactly how it would be rolled out in schools.
She said most survey respondents were parents and the public, with a few teachers and students also taking part.
