Principal Shireen Thomas had pushed to have lessons officially start at 9am instead of 8.30am to combat students arriving late.
The new start time of 9am has been approved by the Education Department and will come into effect on August 1.
"This is just what we needed," Ms Thomas said.
"We had an issue around class attendance in the morning, children arriving 20 minutes late or so.
"This is what I really wanted to try and achieve, to get children in class and learning and now I've left it up to the students to prove they can do this."
The later starting time depended on departmental approval and negotiations with bus company Metro.
Break time will be reduced to 15 minutes and lunch to 30 minutes to allow the school day to finish as normal.
