Ms Nixon has been dogged by criticism since revealing she left the bushfire control centre on the evening of Black Saturday to have dinner at the pub with friends.
On Friday she also admitted having a haircut on February 7, 2009, and meeting her biographer.
Mr Rudd yesterday continued to support Ms Nixon, now head of the state's bushfire reconstruction authority.
"Christine Nixon has already apologised for her position on the night when the fires hit," he said in Canberra.
"We've said then and said since then that she continues to have the Government's support."
