FOUR people have been taken to hospital after a two-car head-on accident on Nelson Bay Road this afternoon. Emergency crews were called to the scene between Gan Gan Road and Frost Road just before 3pm and are still on scene. The injuries are understood to be relatively minor, ranging from a leg fracture to stomach injuries. Both north and southbound lanes of Nelson Bay Road are blocked with police alternating traffic down one shoulder. One male trapped in a vehicle has been freed and taken to hospital. Fire crews have also been called to a house fire in Rutherford Road, Muswellbrook.
