A 49-year-old man from Strahan has been caught allegedly driving at a speed of more than 70 kilometres over the speed limit, in a 100km/h zone.

Tasmania Police said the man was detected travelling at 171 km/h between Strahan and Zeehan about 12.30pm on Friday.
They said he was intercepted in his grey Holden Commodore near Little Henty River, and has had his vehicle clamped.
"Police need the community's support to keep our roads safe," police said.
"Enough is Enough when it comes to breaking the rules and putting other motorists at risk.
