It comes the day before the state is set to remove it's public health emergency declaration.
The tragic figure follows the news that a woman in her 80s has died with COVID in the state's north.
Daily case numbers continue to sit above 1000, with 1174 new cases recorded in the state overnight.
This is a drop from the 1228 cases recorded on Tuesday, with 1077 people released from isolation over the same period.
Premier and health minister Jeremy Rockliff said he expressed his sincere condolences to the woman's family and loved ones.
"With COVID still circulating in our community, it's important to continue following the COVID-safe behaviours," he said.
"Practice good hand hygiene, follow social distancing and consider wearing a mask when you can't, test when you have symptoms and stay home when you are well."
Tasmania currently has 38 people in hospital with COVID, with 12 of these being treated specifically for COVID. Five people are in the Intensive Care Unit.
There are currently 6162 active cases in the state.
"The most important thing you can do to protect yourself, your family and the community is to roll up your sleeves and get vaccinated when you are due," Mr Rockliff said.
