The American entered the NBL after spending most of his professional career in Europe and became a fan favourite with his dynamic and high-flying plays.
The 28-year-old became the first JackJumper to reach 30 points in a roster season game before shining in Tasmania's debut grand final series with 30 points in game two and 36 points in game three.
The grand final series was key to Adams' MVP triumph given he sat in third place at the end of the roster season behind Jack McVeigh and Josh Magette who finished in second and third place respectively.

McVeigh's second-place finish came after the 25-year-old moved to Tasmania from the Adelaide 36ers.
Captain Clint Steindl and Canadian MiKyle McIntosh were recognised for their roles largely off the bench for the JackJumpers with fourth and fifth place finishes respectively.
Matt Kenyon claimed the defensive player of the year award while Fabijan Krslovic claimed the coaches' award. While Kenyon was one of the last players signed by the JackJumpers, the 24-year-old and Krslovic cemented themselves in the starting five by the end of the season in the absence of Will Magnay.
Former Launceston College student and the JackJumpers' basketball operations coordinator Jack Soward won the spirit of the JackJumpers award.
The award ceremony concluded a significant week for the NBL's newest side after they extended Scott Roth's contract until the 2024-25 season.
The MVP award caps a terrific debut campaign for Adams after he was also recognised with all-NBL second team honours.
It should add to the guard's value as part of the NBL free agency market given he is coming off his original one-year deal with Tasmania but has previously said he is open to staying with the franchise.
The NBL's coach of the year hoped to see his imports return for next season.
"We'll start to talk with our imports next week and get more serious about that, we just finished our exit interviews ... we hope to keep a couple of these guys around," Roth said on Friday.
