Campaigner Erik Hayward said protestors took to the facility to stand against the chipping of native forest.
He said the logging of native forest in Tasmania removed climate storehouses from the bush. Mr Hayward said more people were employed in the plantation sector than through native forest harvesting.
Demonstrations to call for the end of native forest logging in Australia were also held in South Austalia, Victoria, NSW and the ACT.
A Native Forest Declaration with 45,000 signatures was delivered to Kirribilli House and Anthony Albanese's electorate office in Marrickville.
