"Of the five children I have, I definitely had the closest relationship with Bailey," his father Dwayne said.

"Darts was the main thing we did together.

"Bailey would have been a really good player.

"He lost a bit of enjoyment over the last couple of years because he got to that age where he wanted to go out with his mates and go to parties as all teenagers do."

The Year 10 Latrobe High School student surprised his father when he recently decided on his ambitions post school.

"He was doing a bit of work experience, doing a bit of panel beating," Dwayne said.

"He was obviously interested in that but he was also interested in some kind of mechanical job.

"It shocked me because a couple of years ago, you couldn't get him to do anything.

"He had his own car and that's where he and Nathan (Bailey's uncle) spent a lot of time.

"Nathan is very mechanical minded and smart when it comes to things like that, so Bailey would call on him for assistance.

"Nathan would do anything for him."

While they were uncle and nephew, Nathan and Bailey considered each other brothers.

"He was a loving, caring kid, who was there all the time, every day," Nathan said.

Bailey's nan Paula said she "can't put into words how much pain she is in".

While, Bailey's mum Cassey said "if u ever met Bailey you would never forget him - it just wasn't possible".

"Bailey was such a loveable, kind and caring person who had such a big personality.

"He loved his brothers and sisters and no matter where he went he left a bit of himself behind."

Dwayne said Bailey would be remembered by everyone differently.

"I didn't see him the way his friends saw him and they didn't see him the way I saw him," he said.

"He loved coming to the (East Devonport) skate park, motorbikes, cars, darts, fishing, camping, spending time with his mates, his nieces and his nephews.

"He just loved being around people."
