Described by Northern Bombers coach Brad Cox-Goodyer as "one of the best games I've played in", his side trailed at two of the three breaks before a Tom Bennett goal and other crucial points secured the win.
"They started pretty hot, they put some really good players around the ball and they were able to get good stoppages and lead without much pressure which was frustrating," he said
"It was a real game of momentum throughout and then it tightened up and it was goal for goal.
"It was a bit nerve-wracking in the end but weight of numbers paid out for us."
Coming out on top after making six Devils-based changes and losing Jack Avent on Friday night, Cox-Goodyer said the win was "character-building".
"Coming down to Lauderdale, it's always tough to play and they've obviously got some good recruits and conditions were tough and windy," he said.
"They played some really good footy at times so to be able to match them and get over the top of them was really, really pleasing."
Telling his boys to enjoy the win, the coach was thrilled with the efforts of his co-captains Ben Simpson and Alex Lee as well as debutant Mitch Nicholas, returnee Fletcher Bennett and young gun Michael Stingel.
"I put it on Ben at half-time because I thought they were walking out of stoppages a bit easy and he cracked in and was great," he said.
"Alex fought hard, got back into the game in the second half and really took control of the stoppages.
"He had a really good battle with [Haydn] Smith in the first half but Alex got on top of him late."
Tom Bennett finished with four majors and Theo Ives three.
