The incident occurred after a grey Hyundai hatchback was struck by a white Ford ute.
The hatchback sustained significant damage to its entire right-hand side, as well as to the back of the vehicle, where its rear windscreen was completely shattered.
According to firemen at the scene, the female occupant managed to exit the vehicle without the help of first responders, despite the damage inflicted to the driver's side of the vehicle.
The ute was taken away by a tow truck at about 3pm, while the hatchback remained in the middle of the intersection, as police directed traffic around it.
Police advised motorists to obey the traffic diversions in place, and avoid the area until the scene is cleared.
