On Monday Detective Inspector Steve Jones was asked if there had been reports of bikies in the Sprent area on Sunday afternoon and evening.
He said there had been one report and that was being investigated alongside other information which had been provided by members of the public.
On Tuesday a Tasmania Police spokesperson said the investigation was ongoing and the arrested man would be interviewed in due course.
"The man remains in police custody and will be interviewed when operationally appropriate," they said.
"Chilcotts Road remains an active crime scene and closed."
