At Mackintosh Dam Road, near Tullah the fire remains at a watch and act level, the Tasmania Fire Service has warned.
"There is an uncontrolled bushfire at MacKintosh Bridge, Tullah," the warning at 9.11am Sunday read.
"This fire is expected to put MacKintosh Dam Road, Tullah at high risk over the next 6 hours.
"The fire is travelling South, towards Tullah.
"Embers, smoke and ash may fall on MacKintosh Dam Road, Tullah and threaten you and your home before the main fire arrives. Conditions are expected to be changeable."
Tasmania Fire Service and Parks and Wildlife Service firefighters are attending the fire.
The warning stated that if you are able to defend your home and it is prepared for a bushfire, it may provide shelter.
"If you are going to leave, make sure you have a clear path to a safer place. There is no evacuation centre in place.
"If your family has made a bushfire plan, use it now. If you do not live near MacKintosh Dam Road, Tullah, stay away.
"The roads could be very dangerous."
The TFS also issued a warning for the township of Tullah, though advised that there was no immediate threat.
