The promising 16-year-old was one of nine players born in 2005 accepted into the program, which is billed as an "accelerated Australian Football and personal development program"
The academy is coached by former Collingwood defender Tarkyn Lockyer, who congratulated the players on their selection.
"Members of the NAB AFL and AFLW Academy will be given the opportunity to develop themselves as people and players under the guidance of expert coaching, high performance and wellbeing staff," he said.
Sanders will be joined in the men's program by fellow Tasmanian Lachie Cowan, who was a member of Devonport's drought-breaking NWFL premiership side.
The state also has a pair of representatives in the AFLW program, with North Hobart's Claire Ransom and Glenorchy's Brooke Barwick (bottom age) taking part.
