E-SCOOTERS IN CITIES
IF I'M injured by someone riding an e-scooter while I'm walking on a footpath, which were designed for the safety of pedestrians, can someone tell me who I can claim compensation from for the injuries received?

TASMANIAN SPEED LIMITS
DR Ian Johnston makes some very good points (The Sunday Examiner, December 5).
I would add that those travelling over the speed limit have to overtake more frequently and overtake manoeuvres are particularly hazardous, particularly if there is only a single lane in each direction and no special overtaking lanes.
Add to this that compliance is typically higher when people feel that the limit is reasonable. Dropping the country road limit from 100km/h to 80km/h, for instance, would greatly increase non-compliance and produce a dangerous mix of compliant and non-compliant drivers, with greatly increased overtake manoeuvres on the narrow roads and a subsequent increase in road trauma.
Increasing the main highway dual-carriageway speed to 120km/h would greatly reduce non-compliance.

WHY THE GENDER AGENDA?
IN today's day and age, I find it concerning that to use the Meadows Mews wi-fi, one must state their gender in order to proceed to free wi-fi. Binary, male or female.
If you don't select either; no free wi-fi.

ALL viruses mutate, influenza virus has more than 200 strains.
Is our government going to continue restrictions, lockdowns despite heavy mandates and high vaccination rates?
We all know the vaccine does not stop infection, transmission and mutations.
It only prevents ICU admission and serious complications, which are very rare.

RELIGIOUS DISCRIMINATION BILL
ROD Force makes the point that the introduction of the Religious Discrimination Bill will permit faith-based institutions the freedom to employ those who support their beliefs (The Examiner, December 4).
In keeping with that line of thinking, will private schools accept only children from families who believe in God?
Will the children themselves be required to believe?
The passing of this bill could result in either a great deal of hypocrisy or outright lying.

HUMAN RIGHTS TRUMP SPORTS
IN VIEW of Chinese persecution of its Uyghur population, Australia should not be participating in the Beijing Winter Olympics.
Human rights surpass sports and nations must not be complicit in bolstering regimes that disregard these.
The 1936 Berlin Olympic Games alone are a historic example of what happens when nations turn a blind eye to the persecution of minorities.
