The annual awards celebrate the photographic skills and expertise of Camera House employees.
This year's awards received the highest number of entries, but it was Camera House Launceston employee Jong Kim who took out the big prize after winning in the landscape and architecture categories.
"Each year, the Camera House Awards showcase the highest calibre of photography. I'm so honoured and grateful just to be included, let alone win," he said.
Kim began taking photos as a hobby during university and has pursued the passion ever since.
"I feel so privileged to work at Camera House, where I can use and develop my photographic expertise and be involved in a career that's also my passion," he said.
The inspiration for the winning photos came from the natural beauty and heritage buildings of Launceston.
"I consciously chose black and white film to highlight the juxtaposition of modern and traditional industrial architectural styles of the historic James Boag's Brewery," Kim said.
"For my landscape, I chose a long exposure setting to capture the flowing water of the Tamar River at Tailrace Park, and soft colouring and a blurred effect to convey the peace and tranquility."
Kim received $2000 in prizemoney, which will go to updating his camera.
