The 44-year-old was taken into custody without incident shortly before midnight, bringing an end to a week-long police search.
The man was found in the suburb of Waverley, seven hours after police offered a cash reward to anyone who could provide information that led to his whereabouts.
It is not clear yet whether a public tip off had led police to the man overnight.
Police were searching for the man to help with their inquiries into a fatal stabbing and wounding in Ravenswood on November 25.
While police had been searching for the man in relation to the incident, no charges had been laid as of Thursday morning.
Police said investigations are still ongoing, but more information will be available to the public later today.
