The Rotary Club of Tamar Sunrise, in partnership with Cityprom, will deliver a range of activities in the mall including Rotary Wrappers - a Christmas gift wrapping service for shoppers.
Between 10am and 3pm each Saturday, shoppers can take their gifts to be wrapped for a small donation towards the Empty Stocking Appeal.
Club president Eve Gibbons said members were keen to see the wrapping service return to the CBD for Christmas, and to start the support for the appeal, the club has donated $3000.
"This year we we made the difficult decision to step away from Carols by Candlelight, and that's where we had raised over $100,000 for the Empty Stocking Appeal," Ms Gibbons said.
"But, we still wanted to be able to bring that sense of Christmas cheer and also raise funds. With the impacts of COVID-19 and high rental and home prices, being able to help the community ... is extremely important.
"The Examiner's Empty Stocking Appeal assists a number of organisations, which then filter it out to those in need."
Shoppers will also be entertained while they wait for their gifts to be wrapped, with the Community Christmas Carollers - made up from school groups and choirs - performing between 11am and 3pm each Saturday.
For the children, large Christmas present characters will be wandering around the mall, providing interactive conversations and photo opportunities.
Cityprom executive officer Amanda McEvoy said the Christmas offerings and donations to the appeal were incredibly exciting.
"I think that's one of the beautiful things we have in Northern Tasmania is our community, we do all look out for each other," she said.
Cityprom will also be hosting other Christmas events such as the window display competition, which was held last year.
Anyone looking at donating to the Empty Stocking Appeal can do so in person at The Examiner's office on Level 2 at 113 Cimitiere Street, at various Northern Tasmanian newsagents, or via direct debit bank transfer.
