Winning the round-eight award, New starred behind the stumps, taking three stumpings, a catch and an assisted run-out before reviving the batting innings.
He joined Zac Towns at the crease with the Blues floundering at 5-129, combining for a century stand before Towns (57) was run out.
New would finish on 59 and the Blues would end up all out 34 runs short but the duo made something out of nothing in the chase.
The Blues' resident wicket-keeper has started the year strongly, fulfilling a new role in the lower order.
He sits ninth in the competition's run-scoring tally, having scored 168 at an average of 56, and wasn't dismissed until round six, having already produced scores of 72*, 17* and 18*.
His work behind the stumps has also gone to another level, involved in at least one dismissal per game to have amassed 11 catches, two assisted run-outs and five stumpings already this year, sitting atop the league.
New's Saturday performance marks the second time he has won the award in its history, taking out the honour in round four of last season for 52* and a strong showing behind the stumps.
The Riverside and Westbury contest was full of other performances that pushed New for the award.
Shamrocks' opener Nathan Parkin made 55 and took three catches, his captain Daniel Murfet made 57 and teammate Michael Lukic took four wickets and a catch.
Standouts in the other game were Mowbray's John Hayes (44 and a wicket), Ishang Shah (3-29 and 19) and Ben Spinks (3-16).
