A man who was found guilty of murder in 1999 and spent eight years in prison for the crime has found himself back in court 22 years later.

Perth man Richard Andrew Duggan, 56, faced the Launceston Magistrates Court on Monday on counts of possessing ammunition when not the holder of the appropriate firearm licence and possessing controlled plant or its products.
His appearance was fleeting, however, as it was his first time in court on the matters, which occurred in May, and he immediately sought an adjournment.
His adjournment was granted, and he was bailed to reappear in the court on January 13 at 9.45am.
Duggan pleaded not guilty to the 1999 murder of the son of a Tasmania Police citing in shooting him in the chest from three metres away he was acting in self-defence.
He was found unanimously guilty by a jury at the time.
His parole application in 2007 said Duggan had been a "model prisoner". His parole period ended on June 19, 2015.
