Farmer Liz Hamer said she was "disgusted" by the outage.
"I consider Strahan to be a premier tourism town and we should be treated as such," she said.
"It's a disgrace and tourists were blaming Strahan for the eftpos issues and the wifi was scratchy."
Ms Hamer said this was the second outage this month.
"I'm just really upset that Telstra would leave Strahan people in this vulnerable situation," she said.
"We need more phone companies to give them more competition and we need an upgrade as we are no better off than we were 40 years ago.
"The Tasmanian Government should make sure these companies are accountable."
Strahan Bungalows owner Mark Callingham said the outage made it "bloody hard" to run his business.
"We can't operate a business if we don't have communication," Mr Callingham said.
"We've been here for nine years now and it's at that point where we have to cop it on the chin.
"We don't seem to be able to get positive answers from anyone about what the problem is.
"The power is also an issue.
"Since we have been here, I couldn't count the power outages and the eftpos down time and the computer down time.
"It gets to a point that it's so frustrating that it will affect you psychologically if you let it get to you.
"It's difficult but what we can we do about it."
A Telstra spokesperson said the outage was related to a radio transmission issue, which impacted Strahan's 3G and 4G mobile networks.
The networks are connected to Telstra's network through radio transmission via Mt Read.
Residents were reporting the outage started as early as 7am on Friday, before being restored soon after 4pm on Saturday.
Telstra radio engineering crews were on the ground in Strahan on Saturday morning and another crew was sent to Mt Read to investigate the issue.
Fixed line services such as home phones were not impacted by the outage.
