Tributes poured in for the arts stalwart on Facebook after daughter Louise Arnold shared the news of his death.

"Dad was a man with integrity and unconditional kindness, and despite the health challenges he faced ... he remained humble and grateful for his life and loved ones right until the very last moments," she said.

"We are heartbroken to have lost the man whom we turned to for wisdom, guidance, and support, but find comfort in the fact that his faith gave him peace in leaving this earth."

The Launceston Musical Society shared their condolences for Arnold's death.

"Craig had a wonderful singing voice and was an active performer in many musicals, dating back to the Light Opera Society days," the post read.

"Craig also performed the role of treasurer for the executive committee for many years and maintained an active interest in the operation of the society until the present day.

"He was a true and good friend to many and will be sadly missed."

Past president Gina McKenzie also shared a personal post for Arnold.

"This is such sad news. Craig was a good friend and a dedicated life member of the LMS. His support and advice were always appreciated," she said.

Deputy mayor Danny Gibson shared that Arnold was a supporter of his, with their friendship dating back to 1996 with the society.

"Craig and I would sit for hours preparing show budgets, organising requirements for show librettos to be returned, talking about props, or even pondering human resource issues. He even helped me put on a fair," he said.

"I recall his diligent budgeting, his kindness to all, his fabulous laugh, and mostly, his wonderful loyalty and support."
