The doors to Tasmania will reopen on December 15 with Premier Peter Gutwein confirming that every eligible Tasmanian has now been given the opportunity to get a COVID-19 vaccine.
His words in State Parliament come as preparation in the health sector for December 15 continues.
Mr Gutwein said a briefing by Public Health had confirmed that access to the vaccine had been provided to every Tasmanian.
"I am confident as of today, based on that advice, that every eligible Tasmanian has now had the opportunity to get vaccinated," Mr Gutwein said.
"I said over a month ago that the key determinant that I need to be satisfied of is that every eligible Tasmanian has had the opportunity to receive the vaccination," he said.
"We have crossed that most important threshold and our borders will reopen on December 15. There is no turning back."
Mr Gutwein said any Tasmanian who had not yet had the vaccine should turn up and get one.
"It will protect you, your family and your community," Mr Gutwein said.
"We know from what is occurring in other jurisdictions that getting the vaccination works...serious illness and hospitalisations are barely occurring. Vaccination is our best defence, importantly it is our best defence against dying from COVID."
Health minister Jeremy Rockliff said an "enormous amount of work" is being done to prepare for December 15, including work on the "pillars of preparedness".
He said meetings with state representatives from the Australian Medical Association, Australian Nursing and Midwifery Federation, the Pharmacy Guild of Australia and other key stakeholders have, and would continue to take place.
"We are actively engaged when it comes to our preparation. We will meet next on December 6, December 13 and December 20th."
Mr Rockliff also reminded people to get vaccinated, and urged parents of young people aged 12 to 15 to assist vaccination.
Up to 2000 vaccination appointments are available daily across the state.
