Members from the 45 Lions clubs across Tasmania recently attended the annual Lions Club convention and gala dinner, held at the Tramsheds in Launceston.
The event, which took place earlier this month, was opened by Member for Bass Bridget Archer and featured addresses from district governor Robert Mantach of the Riverside Lions Club and Bredette Koen, games director of the Special Olympics Australia, which will be held in Launceston in October 2022.

Topics of discussion included the possibility of introducing a mobile skin cancer screening vehicle and the implementation of the container refund scheme, which is currently before the Tasmanian Parliament.
Other key highlights included a speech from Will Scott from Scotch Oakburn College, who is the 2021 Lions Tasmanian Youth of the Year and the election of Paul Cairnduff from the Kingborough Club as incoming District Governor for 2022/2023.
