A Longford street has been declared a crime scene after a neighbourhood dispute ended with one person being shot in the leg.
Police were called to Goose Green Place just before 7.45pm on Saturday, after multiple reports from the public.
It was understood a number of shots had been fired from the street at a man in a driveway, who received minor injuries as a result.
A man, believed to be in his 20s, was taken into custody and was expected to be interviewed by police overnight.
The disturbance saw police from both Deloraine and Longford attend, as well as officers from Launceston uniform division, CIB, and forensics.
Ambulance Tasmania was also at the scene, with the injured man - also believed to be in his 20s - treated by paramedics.
Detective Inspector Craig Fox said the people involved were known to each other, and the incident had been contained quickly by police.
"It was a targeted attack, and whilst with any shooting incident in a public street there is an element of risk to the public, we are confident there is no longer that risk," he said.
Anyone with information should contact police on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
