The promising grade 10 athlete competed in all five track events, the relay and five of the six field events on the day to underline his abilities.
Wheatley put it all on show as he completed the intensive and energy-sapping 400m, 800m and 1500m treble which leaves him with a good shot at Team North selection for the state high school carnival.
Wheatley added to his vast victory tally with first place in the shot put and javelin and was only narrowly pipped in the long jump on countback.
Star of the Sea's Paulo Moore upstaged Wheatley in the grade 10 boys' 100m with a time of 13.10 while his schoolmate John Carlo Gabriel took victory in the grade 10 boys' 200m event.
Not to be upstaged, St Marys High track star Zali Taylor proved she is one to watch with victories in the grade 9 girls' 100m, 200m, 800m and 1500m events as well as the long jump and triple jump in a successful outing.
St Helens' Ayla Mead proved strong competition for Taylor with second place finishes in the long jump and triple jump events.
Not many records tumbled at St Leonards but the one that did belonged to St Helen's Jasmine Griffin.
Griffin's 10.05m effort in the grade 8 girls' triple jump overtook the previous division 2 and 3 meet record of 9.79m.
Star of the Sea's Amber Webb was another one who lit up the track to claim the girls' grade 10 100m and 200m from Flinders Island's Jodie Allott.
However, not to be undeterred Allott stormed back in the girls' grade 10 400 metres with a time of 79.82 in a dominant display.
