Hobart will play Adelaide Strikers at Great Barrier Reef Arena in Mackay on Saturday for its 12th outing in WBBL07, a tournament which has so far only delivered three wins to see it sit in seventh position.
"We have probably had a few games that have got away from us and a few close losses,'' spinner Molly Strano said on Friday.
"We are a little bit disappointed with how the season has played out thus far, but we are really excited to get back on the park this weekend and hopefully finish this campaign in a winning fashion."
The Australian T20I representative has been one of the Hurricanes' finest this summer, sitting equal fifth on the wicket-taking list with 11 wickets at 26.09 and has also made some handy contributions with the bat.
The 29-year-old was full of praise for the performance of fellow spinner Ruth Johnston, who has had a strong impact with the bat and ball in WBBL07.
"Ruth has been awesome in her first year of Big Bash cricket,'' Strano said.
"She has been phenomenal with bat and ball and we saw how destructive she can be with the bat and she has bowled so well with her off-breaks as well and has been economical.
"She has been a great find for us and hopefully she'll stick around in the purple for a few years to come."
Strano also described skipper Rachel Priest, who has played through a lot of the tournament with a broken finger, as "inspirational".
The previous match between the Hurricanes and the Strikers was abandoned due to rain.
Hobart made 5-107 in 16 overs in that Invermay Park clash, highlighted by 39 from 35 balls from Mignon du Preez.
Saturday's match will start at 3.40pm.
