Winning the most valuable player at the South West Metro Pirates this season, 25-year-old Woodfall will play for the Rockhampton Rockets next year, much to the delight of coach Neal Tweedy.
"He is a quality guard that can play either the shooting guard or point guard position and we believe he will be a focal point for the Rockets in the 2022 season," he told the team's website.
"Kai had an extremely successful season last year and has had a great college career and he is a player that shoots the ball extremely well from the perimeter but can also create for his teammates and lead a team around the floor from the point guard position."
Described by Tweedy as "a step in the right direction for the program", Woodfall was equally full of praise for his new side.
"Both the club and Coach Tweedy have a winning history and that's something I look forward to being a part of next season while we compete for an NBL1 championship," he said.
"I loved the energy that the Rockhampton fans brought to the home games last season and can't wait to get out and represent them on court in 2022."
Farewelling the former Riverside High School student on Instagram, the Pirates described Woodfall, who averaged 21 points per game last season, as "an all-round good guy".
