Creative, sustainable, and wearable art is back in fashion as a beloved art show returns for another year. Interweave Arts' Remade show officially launched its 11th year of creating awareness about recycling and sustainable materials in August. 2. Harvest Market
November 13, 8.30am-12.30pm
Every Saturday the tasty Harvest Market takes over the Cimitiere Street parking area to share fresh food and produce. Discover a wide range of vendors and local brands to support.
3. Garden Festival
November 13-14, 10am-4pm
Spring has sprung as Entally Estate's annual celebration of the season blooms this weekend. Gardenfest includes stalls such as indoor and outdoor plants, mulches, gardening tools, accessories, and sculptures. Also on offer will be Devonshire tea, exhibitions, displays, wine tastings, and a raffle. Up to 2000 people will be allowed on site at once and masks are mandatory, with organisers recommending people bring their own. However, some will be provided on site if needed. 4. Basketball Gala
November 13-14, Elphin Sports Centre
The State League's champion will be decided on the weekend, with semi-final action on Saturday followed by grand final play on Sunday in the Basketball Tasmania Gala. The sole Northern team competing is the Launceston Lightning women, who finished second on the ladder and are coached by Launceston Tornadoes coach Sarah Veale.
5. Sally's Ride
November 14
Sally's Ride aims to create a healthy community while raising funds and awareness of mental health issues in youth. There will be five rides on offer to cater for all abilities: St.LukesHealth 10-kilometre Family Ride, ALA Partners 25-kilometre Recreational Ride, Tas Gas 45-kilometre Challenge, Briggs Financial 70-kilometre Challenge and Peak Computer 100-kilometre Sally's Ride. 6. Book Council
November 18, 1pm
The National Book Council will hold its final event for 2021. The team are hoping to excite the community to think about books that would be welcomed by two to eight year old's for Christmas gifts. Carol Fuller from The Children's Book Council Australia is coordinating the event in partnership with the council. The event will be held at Pilgrim Church.
