There are several options around for those doing it a little tough this Christmas like the Launceston City Community Christmas Lunch.
The event is run by several charities, including some who benefit from The Examiner's Empty Stocking Appeal.
Launceston Benevolent Society chief executive Rod Spinks said it was important to support those in the community doing it tough with events like the lunch and Empty Stocking Appeal.
"[The Empty Stocking Appeal] means we can support [those struggling] a little bit more into the Christmas period and New Year," he said.
" A lot of people we see at the Christmas luncheon are people who don't have anyone to share the day with."
The money from the appeal also goes to other Christmas help such as toys and additional support.
"We use those funds wherever we can to provide that sort of help," Mr Spinks said.
"It's been a really tough year for a lot of people. There's a hidden cohort of people out there doing it tough who haven't been in this situation before."
Anyone looking at donating to the Empty Stocking Appeal can do so in person at The Examiner's office on Level 2 at 113 Cimitiere Street, at various Northern Tasmanian newsagents, or via direct debit bank transfer.
Those wanting to attend the Christmas Lunch can register at launcestoncommunitychristmas.com.au. Numbers are capped due to COVID-19 restrictions.
