Launceston City Mission officially launched its annual Christmas Appeal on Friday, encouraging the community to "give joy" this Christmas.
City Mission's operations manager for emergency relief and housing Stephen Hill said Christmas should be a happy time for everyone in the community.

"The Christmas Appeal is about families that are in tough situations who need some joy," Mr Hill said.
City Mission recognised the biggest contributors to financial stress were rental and housing prices.
"We want them and their children can have a happy Christmas, receive toys and be able to have a Christmas like everyone else."
To donate, visit the City Mission website, its office or any Mission store in Launceston.
