Launceston Lightning picked up their first win in the men's State League with a 113-77 defeat of Basketball Tasmania's High Performance side.

Round two of the competition saw 25 games taking place at the Ulverstone and Penguin Sports Centres after an opening round which saw Penguin men and women, Glenorchy men and Kings women cement themselves as strong favourites.
All 10 Lightning players registered on the scoreboard with NBL1 star Gabe Hadley (24), Moses van den Berg (20), Harry Flint (17), Thomas Foster (14) and Corey Benson (13) breaking double figures.
Kye Savage top scored for BTHP with 25 as Launceston Basketball Association MVP Lachlan Brewer added 14.
Lightning had gone down 113-64 in Saturday's match against Glenorchy.
Hadley (20) and van den Berg (10) led the way but were no match for Glenorchy big guns Phoenix Robey (30) and two-time MVP Jack Stanwix (26).
Hobart Phoenix edged Saturday's second game 90-80 largely thanks to 38 points from Lachlan Rice while Hadley hit 23.
Meanwhile in the women's competition, Launceston Lightning completed a hat-trick of wins to remain in contention at the top of the ladder.
Following tough losses to Kings and Penguin, Lightning's weekend began with a tight 54-51 win over Smithton Saints, Launceston Tornadoes star Mariah Payne amassing 36 points as Emerson Wells chipped in with 11.
Payne then single-handedly outscored the opposition with a haul of 55 points in a 93-53 win over Basketball Tasmania HP.
On Sunday Payne added 40 points to an 81-77 win over KHBA Kings but was outscored by Sharna Thompson (44).
Makala Bingley also hit 18 for Lightning.
Lightning now sit second on the ladder with 14 points, four behind undefeated Penguin. KHBA Kings are third on 13 but have played a game more.
