A Tasmania Police spokesperson said the 32-year-old man will appear in court today after being charged with stealing with force.

The spokesperson said police responded to the incident after staff of the Terry White Chemist activated the hold-up alarm about 6pm. It is alleged the man threatened employees before fleeing the scene.
They said police located and arrested the man a short time later.

A 32-year-old male is in police custody assisting with enquiries after a hold up alarm was triggered at the Terry White Chemist in Devonport's Fourways on October 28.
Tasmania Police said in a release that at 6pm the hold-up alarm was triggered after a male allegedly threatened staff and "decamped the area".

Police units immediately responded in numbers, putting a cordon in place and searching the nearby area.
Police located the male a short time later and he was safely taken into custody.
Police are continuing their investigations into this matter.
Police said they would like to thank members of the public for their assistance in locating the male.
