Women's coach Darren Simmonds said the call was made on Saturday to call off both scheduled Twenty20 games against North Hobart at the Soldiers Memorial Oval on the Domain.
The decision was made early enough that the team's four North-West players had not set out with a 6.15am departure scheduled from Launceston on Sunday morning.
Both matches will be recorded as draws, denoting the Raiders' first dropped points of the season following four wins from their first four matches, all at Windsor Park.
Raiders remain top with 10 points, two ahead of North Hobart, and are scheduled to return south again next Sunday with two Twenty20s against Clarence at Kangaroo Bay Oval.
The two matches between New Town and Clarence at New Town Oval were also abandoned.
It was a similarly-frustrating weekend for Tim Coyle's men's side.

After Saturday's play was restricted to just four Jono Chapman deliveries and play suspended at Windsor Park with Clarence on 0-4, no play was possible on Sunday.
The matches between Lindisfarne and South Hobart Sandy Bay plus North Hobart against New Town were also abandoned.
The Raiders are due to begin a two-day game at Lindisfarne next Saturday.
