Tasmanian Public Health director Mark Veitch has also provided an update on the testing results of the primary close contacts of the COVID-positive man who walked out of hotel quarantine in Hobart.

Of the 171 close contacts of the man, 169 have been tested and all these have produced negative results, which includes the 15 close household contacts.
Wastewater tests conducted last week have also produced negative results.
"That is great news, particularly that the closest contacts, none of them have tested positive, and also the large circle of their broader contacts have also tested negative," Dr Veitch said.
Mr Gutwein said all health workers in Tasmania must be vaccinated by October 31.
"I want to remind them today that the deadline is October 31, to have received on vaccination or to have booked an appointment to receive a vaccination.
"Staff currently listed in the direction will not be able to attend health care settings, and will not be able to work, therefore will not be paid at the October 31 cut off, and this will end their employment."
