Police said the truck crossed the southbound lanes near the Box Hill Road overpass, travelled down an embankment before crashing into the rear of the Bristol Road property.
The house was occupied at the time of the crash, however its residents narrowly avoided injury. The truck driver was cut free and taken to the Royal Hobart Hospital with minor injuries.
Police are investigating the cause of the crash and ask anyone with information to phone 131 444 or Crime stoppers on 1800 333 000.
