The Longford Show is set to return to Hobhouse Street on Saturday

The one-day affair is scheduled to return to Hobhouse Street in Longford on Saturday.

The show's return comes after the event was cancelled last year due to COVID-19. Attendance at this year's show will be capped at 5000 people and COVID Marshals were made mandatory.

Secretary of the Longford Show Society Kristy Springer said that masks will also be required for admittance into the venue.

"I believe we're only one of four shows actually going ahead this year, so it's been a big undertaking to get the entire committee to agree to it, but we unanimously decided it would go ahead," she said.

"We wanted to give the community something to look forward to and we know how much they love the show."

Mrs Springer commended the numerous volunteers that assisted in organising the family friendly event as well as those expected be involved at the weekend.

She hoped the community would be appreciative of the effort involved in putting the day together and that they would be patient when lining up to enter the grounds or to go on rides.

Various events are expected to be on offer including a large animal nursery, sheep dog trials and show jumping.

Mrs Springer believed the main attraction of the day would be the motorbike trail riding.

She described this particular event as a sport of balance, skill and concentration that would pit the rider against an obstacle course of boulders, streams, hill climbs and logs. Visit longfordshow.com.au
