The bout of wet weather which was forecast earlier this week has hit Tasmania's North-East, and the Bureau of Meteorology now expects the rain and wind to continue through until the middle of the weekend.

Another 15-30 millimeters of rain is expected to fall between now and midnight on Saturday, with the South-East of the state forecast to receive a further 50-70 millimeters.
As the rain continues to fall, minor flooding is expected throughout the state and moderate flood warnings have been issued by the Bureau for the South Esk River.
Meanwhile, flood watch is still in effect for the North and North East, Mersey, Huon, Derwent and South catchments, and minor flood warnings are in place for North Esk River and Macquarie River.
According to the Bureau, thunderstorms could develop in the North and East of the state today and tomorrow. If storms do develop, they are expected to be slow moving and generate heavy rain but a Severe Thunder Warning is yet to be put in pace.
Likewise, wind warnings may be issued on Saturday and a Road Weather Alert is already up for parts of the North East.
