A group of Launceston General Hospital staff have dared to bare it all, all in the name of a good cause.
After the success of the 2019 Madwives calendar, staff at the LGH have been busy creating its sequel - Madwives and Crew.
While the original calendar featured 45 midwife models, an impressive total of 96 staff members from across the LGH Women's and Children's services chose to bare it all for Madwives and Crew.
Calendar coordinators and midwives Kylie Burns and Penni Ives said the project's popularity was largely due to the positive impact of the first calendar in 2019.
"It was really empowering," Ms Ives said.
"And it was all about normalising bodies and making people comfortable in their own skin."
Additionally, both women said the project was an important bonding experience for LGH staff after a stressful 18 months.
"It's about people being brave and vulnerable, that's how you make connections with people.
"By being honest and showing that other side of yourself."
The Madwives and Crew calendar will feature some of Launceston's most iconic locations and is a joyous celebration of body positivity.
"We really want to normalise bodies and help people feel more comfortable in their own skin," Ms Burns said.
"We were the assistants on the photoshoots and we made sure we highlighted the body parts that the models liked and hid the ones they were a bit more insecure about.
"The photos are joyous and a little bit naughty, a little bit cheeky and a lot of fun."
As a midwife, Ms Ives said she was used to seeing women at their most vulnerable, but the calendar was also an homage to the strength of patients going through cancer treatment.
"It's all about that vulnerability and finding something positive in that vulnerability," Ms Ives said.
"And supporting people with cancer because you're vulnerable going through treatment and living with that unknown.
"And everyone is touched by cancer."
The 2021 calendar will feature iconic Launceston locations, with 100 per cent of the sales going directly to Relay for Life.
The 2019 calendar raised $11,000 for Relay for Life, and the team hopes to set a new record with the latest release.
"For me the calendar is a celebration of life," Ms Ives said.
"And that's what we want to do with supporting Relay for Life, is supporting life and the research that goes into preserving life."
The Madwives and Crew Calendar supporting Relay for Life launches on October 15.
The calendar is being sold for $20 and will be available at Rhubarb for Gifts' stores.
