Flyfishers hope for air temperatures regularly in the 20s to warm water and spark mayfly hatches.
Four Springs Lake water remains high and trout are rising in calm conditions. Many are small but an informed local angler said two and three kilogram brownies were caught recently.
Shore anglers, however, often need to wade out past weed to clearer water.

Numerous browns in good nick came at lures coloured red, green and gold trolled deep and although many just under-sized were returned, many others were kept.
